One replaces the DNA in a cell which responds by making a whole new set of proteins according to the new code. All the characteristics of the original are replaced. A new species is born.

Conspiracy theories, alien interference, and secret societies provoke new ideas and understanding. After all, all great advances are made by heretics - those willing to challenge the norm. No doubt something provoked a leap in evolution.
Many New Age seminars espouse activation of the 12 strand DNA, a characteristic trait that was distorted by reptilian geneticists. While most of us know that we only use approximately 10% of our brain, some speculate it was to keep humanity mentally deficient and thus content to serve the gods. See Reptilian Agenda.
These same deactivation destroyed the ability to connect to the collective consciousness and hear the voice of god, a theory developed by Julian Jaynes in his The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind. One may equate it to Star Trek Next Generation's Seven of Nine who was unplugged from the Borg hive.
The human species genetic code was changed. We are limited to the Matrix or ‘screen’ as to how we interpret the world. However, the human form continues to evolve.
