Amarjah's Musing -Myth, Mysticism & Meaning
Transcendence of the Ego (under construction)
Id, ego, and super-ego are the three parts of the psychic apparatus defined in Sigmund Freud's structural model of the psyche. According to this model, the id is the set of uncoordinated instinctual trends; the ego is the organised, realistic part; and the super-ego plays the critical and moralising role.

For the non-professionals, these can be loosely equated with subconscious, waking awareness, and an overseer we call conscience. For those with a mystical perspective, the ego is what translates reality through its filter.
In Islam, the nafs (arabic) are the lowest dimension of man's inward existence, his animal nature. Indeed purifying one of his nafs such as:
- False pride (Takabbur)
- Greed (Hirs)
- Envy (Hasad)
- Lust (Shahwah)
- Backbiting (Gheebah)
- Stinginess (Bokhl)
- Malice (Keena)
Only then can one surrender to the Will of Allah.
The same process is a part of the transforming nature of a human being: to purify oneself of the lower drives of nature and ego. Only then may one become aligned with a will of a higher power or god.
"Never underestimate to the power of what a few conscious people can do to change the world. " xxxxxx(M. Mead)

Amarjah Wisdom School
Many circle the mountain examining the various paths without ever making the climb. We offer seminars, consultations, and support networks in the spiritual quest for awakening. We are not affiliated with organized religions as the truth is the same when viewed from the mountain summit regardless of the path to reach it.
The evolution of consciousness has brought us here - to remind of us of who we are and our purpose here. We are seekers who embrace skepticism, acceptance and the strength in unity. We are greater than the sum of the parts in a greater spiritual work.![]()
