Shoulder Season
Bridging...the...Extremes!
In the travel industry, a shoulder season is the abbreviated time falling between the high season and low season. Many times it offers the advantages-such as good weather-of the peak travel period without their associated high costs. Turns out everything is becoming a shoulder season - even in fashion and television.
The Television Season
I haven't had a television or cable hookup for years now. For the most part, I don't miss it and find myself enjoying reading, cooking, and living more. However there are a few shows that I find worth watching on the internet. I am a Gordon Ramsey fan - shakes head- even if his chefs really don't get the jobs they are promised.

"NCIS, House, MasterChef ."
NCIS is a favorite and perhaps why I am ranting about shoulder seasons - the first time I heard this phrase regarding television seasons. There used to be a FALL and a SPRING season and re-runs were relegated to summers where we were outside anyway and didn't watch. Now I can't figure out when new episodes or re-runs are being shown.
Ok, I get why Two and a Half Men might have difficulty maintaining a weekly schedule where Charley Sheen's life with hookers, drugs, and drama may actually overshadow the show's scripts. But I liked the old routine and predictability of new shows and re-runs. At least there is a promise of new show on NCIS tonight.
