Amarjah's Musing -Myth, Mysticism & Meaning

Carlos Castaneda

(25 December 1925 – 27 April 1998)

Carlos Castaneda

Carlos Cesar Salvador Arana Castaneda

was a Peruvian-born American anthropologist and author. Castaneda wrote a series of books purporting training in traditional Mesoamerican shamanism. His work has been controversial for many years-academic critics claim the books are works of fiction, citing the books' internal contradictions, discrepancies between the books and anthropological data, alternate sources for Castaneda's detailed knowledge of shamanic practices and lack of corroborating evidence.

After Castaneda dropped from public view in 1973, he bought a large house in Los Angeles which he shared with three of his female followers, who became known as the Witches. Shortly after Carlos died, Florinda and Taisha disappeared, along with Patricia Partin (see the Blue Scout). Talia Bey (Cleargreen president - born Amalia Marquez) and Tensegrity instructor Kylie Lundal had their phones disconnected and also disappeared. On August 2, 1998 Carol spoke at a Tensegrity workshop in Ontario. None of the Witches has been seen in public since.

Carlos was an enigmatic figure that influenced the spiritual explorations of the 1960's on. My teacher used the maps Carlos developed in many of his own explorations. A friend of mine was close to Carlos in his final days. He sent me a message just before he died...

"See you in the magenta world."

Amarjah Wisdom School

Many circle the mountain examining the various paths without ever making the climb. We offer seminars, consultations, and support networks in the spiritual quest for awakening. We are not affiliated with organized religions as the truth is the same when viewed from the mountain summit regardless of the path to reach it.

The evolution of consciousness has brought us here - to remind of us of who we are and our purpose here. We are seekers who embrace skepticism, acceptance and the strength in unity. We are greater than the sum of the parts in a greater spiritual work.divider
